The overall scope of work included the development of a new greenfield airport which included the development of a new passenger terminal expected to handle 7.5 million annual passengers.

A Passenger Terminal Feasibility Study was conducted in order to assess the maximum traffic capacity which the existing terminal building could accommodate. The study also included the preparation of recommendations for expanding facilities and optimizing airport operations in order to handle a capacity of up to 10 million passengers annually.

was built as Naval Air Station Sanford, a Master Jet Base for Carrier-based attack and reconnaissance aircraft until 1969. Due

It is the Orlando’s secondary commercial airport, but is farther away from downtown Orlando and the major attractions than primary airport, Orlando International Airport.
